Another great golf tournament on the Eagle Tour...
Last weeks event was hosted by Morley Hayes Golf Club, Derbyshire. I was a little reluctant to enter this event as I hadn't played the golf course before but felt I needed to play a tournament to improve on last weeks disappointing miss cut on the Euro Pro Tour at Burhill. It was a hard day out on the course as gale force winds hit us all day. It was nice to have my uncle on the bag and help get around the course.
After a steady start to the round, I began to gain some momentum giving myself several birdie chances.
A few loose tee shots on holes 7 and 9 put me on the back foot placing me +3 after nine holes.
I knew if I made a few birdies, I still had a good chance of winning or coming close as it was very challenging conditions so the scoring wouldn't be great.
I had a slightly frustrating back nine, I hit the ball great but didn't convert my putts. It was nice to birdie 2 of the last 3 holes to finish in 2nd place and picking up some money again.
I now have a few weeks off to work on my game with my coach and I am looking forward to the next Euro Pro Tour event at Cumberwell park and Final Stage open qualifying.
